Industrial High Temperature Gasket Material
Industrial high-temperature gasket material is a material specifically designed to achieve reliable sealing in high-temperature environments (usually referring to working temperatures exceeding 120 ℃, and in some extreme cases, up to 1000 ℃ or more). Its core function is to maintain good elasticity, sealing performance, and structural stability under high temperature, high pressure, and potentially corrosive medium conditions, preventing fluid or gas leakage. They are key components for the safe operation of industrial equipment.
Industrial high-temperature gasket materials are highly specialized and directly related to the sealing reliability, safety, and operating costs of equipment.

Key points for selecting high-temperature gasket materials
Temperature parameters: It is necessary to clearly define the long-term working temperature and the short-term peak temperature (such as the instantaneous over-temperature when the equipment starts or stops), and select materials with an upper temperature resistance limit 20% to 30% higher than the actual temperature (reserve a safety margin). For instance, in scenarios where the working temperature is 250℃ for a long time, materials with a temperature resistance of ≥300℃ should be selected.
Medium characteristics: When in contact with oily media (such as hydraulic oil, diesel), avoid silicone rubber and EPDM. Prioritize fluororubber or metal wound gaskets (filled with graphite). When in contact with highly corrosive media (such as sulfuric acid and caustic soda), graphite composite gaskets or nickel alloy metal gaskets should be given priority. When in contact with food or pharmaceutical media, materials that meet FDA certification (such as food-grade silicone rubber, pure graphite) should be selected.
Pressure condition: Low pressure (< 1MPa). Rubber or asbestos-free gaskets are available as options. For medium and high pressure (1 to 30MPa), metal wound or corrugated gaskets are preferred. Ultra-high pressure (> 30MPa) requires metal cladding or pure metal gaskets (such as copper or aluminum gaskets).
Sealing form: Dynamic sealing (such as pistons, rotating shafts) requires highly elastic materials (such as fluororubber); For static sealing (such as flanges and equipment interfaces), composite fiber or metal gaskets can be selected.
Installation and cost: Rubber and asbestos-free gaskets are easy to install and have a low cost, but their service life is relatively short. Metal gaskets need to be matched with precise flange surfaces (surface roughness Ra≤3.2μm), which are relatively expensive, but they have a long service life and high reliability.
