Y-shaped Ring

A Y-shaped ring (Y-shaped sealing ring) is a lip seal with a cross-section in the shape of "Y". The cross-section of the Y-shaped sealing ring is symmetrical or asymmetrical in the shape of "Y", mainly composed of the sealing lips (the inclined lips on both sides) and the root (the part connecting the lips on both sides). With its unique structural design, it is widely used in fluid power systems such as hydraulic and pneumatic systems, especially suitable for sealing scenarios in reciprocating motion. The material and structural design should be selected specifically based on the specific working conditions (pressure, temperature, medium, and movement frequency) to ensure a long-term stable sealing effect.

Strong self-adaptive sealing ability
During operation, the system pressure will push the sealing lip of the Y-ring to press tightly against the sealing surface (the surface of the shaft or hole). The higher the pressure, the tighter the fit, thus achieving a "pressure self-enhancement" sealing effect. It is suitable for medium and high-pressure scenarios (usually up to over 30MPa).

Moderate frictional resistance
The contact area between the sealing lip and the sealing surface is smaller than that of the O-ring. During reciprocating motion, the frictional resistance is relatively small, reducing energy loss and heat generation. It is suitable for high-frequency reciprocating motion (such as hydraulic cylinders and pneumatic cylinders).

Good installation compatibility
The processing accuracy requirements for the sealing groove are relatively flexible, and it is less likely to twist or flip (superior to some O-rings), with a relatively high installation tolerance rate.
