Testing methods for fluororubber O-rings
● Hardness test: The hardness of fluororubber O-rings is measured by A Shore hardness tester, usually using the Shore A hardness standard. By measuring the hardness, the elasticity and wear resistance of the rubber can be evaluated.
● Tensile strength and elongation test: Tensile tests are conducted using a universal material testing machine. The samples are made into dumbbell shapes and tested under specified temperature, humidity and tensile speed. The tensile strength and elongation at break are calculated based on the load-displacement curve of the samples to evaluate the toughness and deformation capacity of rubber materials.
● Thermal aging performance test: In accordance with standards such as HG/T 3089-2001, the samples are placed in a forced air circulation aging chamber and maintained at a certain temperature for a period of time. Then, the changes in their physical properties such as tensile strength, elongation at break, and hardness are evaluated to simulate the performance degradation process of seals in high-temperature environments.
● Chemical corrosion resistance test: Expose fluororubber O-ring samples to different chemical media, such as strong acids, strong alkalis, organic solvents, etc. Observe the surface changes, measure the weight loss, volume expansion rate and other indicators to evaluate the chemical corrosion resistance.
● Compression permanent deformation test: After compressing the fluororubber sample, it is maintained at high temperature for a certain period of time, and then its permanent deformation rate is measured to evaluate the performance stability of the O-ring under long-term compression.
