PBT Extruded Parts
PBT (polybutylene terephthalate) is a semi crystalline thermoplastic engineering plastic with excellent mechanical strength, chemical resistance, and electrical insulation properties. PBT extruded parts are widely used in electronic and electrical, automotive, industrial equipment and other fields, especially for components that require heat resistance, corrosion resistance and dimensional stability.
Polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) extruded parts have the following characteristics
1.Mechanical properties
- High strength and rigidity: The tensile strength of PBT reinforced with glass fiber can reach 170MPa, making it suitable for manufacturing structural components that can withstand large external forces.
- Impact resistance: The mechanical properties of unreinforced PBT do not have significant advantages compared to engineering plastics, but the impact strength changes little after reinforcement, and the performance is stable in low to high temperature environments.
2.Thermal performance
- Heat resistance: The short-term use temperature can reach 200 ℃, and the long-term use temperature is 120 ℃.
- Hot deformation temperature: Under a pressure of 0.45MPa, the hot deformation temperature is about 150 ℃, and dimensional stability can still be maintained in high temperature environments.
3.Processing performance
- Liquidity: The melt has good fluidity and is suitable for manufacturing thin-walled or complex shaped products.
- Molding shrinkage rate: The molding shrinkage rate is relatively low, which can reduce problems such as warping and deformation.
4.Chemical properties
- Chemical corrosion resistance: It can resist dilute acids, alcohols, ketones and other chemical substances, but should be used with caution in strong acid and alkali environments.
- Low water absorption rate: The water absorption rate is only 0.3% -0.4%, and it is not easy to deform after long-term use.
5.Application scenarios
- Automotive components: structural parts that require high strength and heat resistance, such as bumpers and door components.
- Electronic devices: precision components such as connectors, switches, etc., due to their excellent electrical insulation performance and stable size.
